Create and Connect After School Drop-in
Healing Art for Kids Grades 1-5
Thursdays, after school until 6:00pm
This circle is a place where your child can be themself and make discoveries through art play, which is a great way to transition from school to home. During our time together, I guide children in painting, clay, drawing, craft and whatever else inspires us. Children choose what they work with. As they create, I support their authenticity, self-love, and curiosity. I help them navigate through common narratives that shut down creativity and confidence. I also support social learning and health in group interactions.
Each Thursday that you sign up for I will pick your child up from school and we will walk to the This Art Heals studio, which is a 20 minute walk from Salish Coast Elementary and an 8 minute walk from Swan school. Once we settle in at the studio, we begin with a simple sharing circle that helps everyone get to know each other; participants may either voice something meaningful about their week or simply listen. Then we create! Please pick your child up between 5:45 and 6:00.
When you register, choose how many times you want your child to come in the month you register for. In the comments section of your registration, let me know what dates your child will attend. This circle only takes place on Thursdays and will not meet on November 26th, December 24th or December 31st.
When you register you will get directions. If you would like to sign up for a whole month (4 classes), which costs less, you can do that here.
If you’d like to meet me and make art as a family, consider coming to the next Family Art Party on Friday September 11th from 6-8pm.
